Awful Gato started 2021 as Antti had bought a guitar and revoked his dream of making music, he asked his friends if they'd be interested in playing together. Joonas immedietly said yes and so Antti and Joonas started to play together without neither having any previous experience in playing in a band. Later they were joined by . Rehersals in the beginning were not too well planned, and a lot of time was spent in aimless jamming and noodling. Only one cover was played, which was I wanna be your dog by The Stooges. Also the bands musical direction was not in any way clear, we kind of wanted to just to play and see what comes of it. This approach lead to lot of musical nonsense, haha!
